I began to paint Tangle at a group painting event, where I could only follow along to the point of keeping the mountain and evergreen trees! When I look at Tangle now, I can feel a sense of peace and harmony between the elements in the composition. When looked at as pictured, the ocean waves lap the mountains which are underlined by bare trees and the moon. When turned 180 degrees, the painting is topped off with the Evergreen trees which bare their roots in front of a full moon and are lapped at by the ocean waves.
The connection that I feel with nature coupled with my experiments between surrealism and optics continues to inspire my homage to our beautiful surroundings.
This particular painting seems to be the sister to The Rift, another painting in which I continue to expand my artistic horizons and expression.
